Old Saybrook, CT is home to so many women who are doing incredible things while quietly wondering how much longer they can keep it all going. If you're a high-achieving woman in Old Saybrook looking for a therapist who actually gets it, I offer online therapy designed specifically for women like you.
I'm Jessica Foley, a licensed mental health counselor providing online therapy to women throughout Connecticut, including Old Saybrook and the surrounding shoreline communities. My practice is built around helping women who have spent years being everything to everyone finally make some space for themselves. Through secure video sessions, you get real therapeutic support without the commute, the childcare juggle, or one more thing added to your already impossible schedule.
Living on the Connecticut shoreline looks beautiful from the outside. And it is. But even in a place like Old Saybrook, many women are quietly struggling beneath the surface. The pressure to keep a perfect home, crush it at work, show up for your kids, nurture your relationship, and somehow still have something left for yourself? It's a lot. It's too much, actually.
Online therapy for Old Saybrook residents offers a way to get support that actually fits your life. You can log on during lunch, after the kids are in bed, or whenever you can carve out a private moment. No waiting rooms. No small talk with strangers. Just you, me, and the work that matters.
The women I work with are used to pushing through. They've achieved a lot by sheer force of will. But there comes a point where pushing harder stops working. If you're at that point, or getting close, I want you to know that reaching out for help isn't giving up. It's one of the bravest things you can do.
You might wonder if therapy through a screen can really feel like therapy. I get it. But here's the truth: research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for anxiety, depression, trauma, postpartum struggles, and perimenopause challenges.
For women in shoreline communities like Old Saybrook, online therapy removes real barriers. You don't have to drive to New London or Hartford. You don't have to worry about seeing someone you know. You can be in your own space, in your comfy clothes, with your favorite mug of coffee or tea.
For a lot of my clients, this convenience is what makes therapy possible at all. When you're already stretched thin, adding a commute feels like one more impossible ask. Online sessions take that off the table completely.
Everything we do together is private and secure. I use a HIPAA-compliant video platform, and our sessions are just as confidential as they would be in a traditional office.
I work specifically with women, and more specifically, with high-achieving women who are tired of running on empty. You might be a professional managing a big career while raising kids. You might be navigating the fog of new motherhood or the unexpected curveballs of perimenopause. You might be carrying old wounds that you've never had the time or space to address.
Most of my clients are between 35 and 50. They're driven, successful, and accomplished by any external measure. But they come to therapy because they know something has to change. The over-functioning, the perfectionism, the constant pressure to perform? It's catching up with them.
If that sounds like you, I want you to know that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. You've gotten far by pushing through. Now you're recognizing that some things require a different approach.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, postpartum concerns, perimenopause and menopause, trauma, and struggles with food and eating. These issues often overlap and intertwine, and I meet each client where she is rather than applying a cookie-cutter approach.
My work is grounded in two main approaches. Brainspotting is a powerful technique that helps access and process experiences stored deep in the brain, especially trauma that talk therapy alone hasn't been able to touch. Relational Cultural Therapy recognizes that we heal through connection and helps women reconnect with themselves and others in authentic ways.
What you can expect from me is realness. I'm warm, direct, and genuine. I won't hide behind clinical detachment. I'll show up as a whole person because that's what this work requires.
When you reach out, my assistant Liz will help you schedule a free 15-minute fit check. This quick video call lets us both see if we're a good match before committing to anything.
If we decide to move forward, you'll complete your intake paperwork through my secure client portal, and then you can book sessions directly through my online calendar. In our first session, we'll get to know each other and talk about what's bringing you to therapy. In our second session, we'll dig deeper and start building a plan tailored to your specific needs.
Once we're working together, you can book sessions up to a year in advance. I try to make myself available outside of sessions when needed, and sometimes I'll suggest skills or practices to work on between our meetings. We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our approach as you grow.
While I'm based online, I'm proud to serve women throughout Connecticut, including Old Saybrook and neighboring communities like Essex, Westbrook, Clinton, Madison, Old Lyme, East Lyme, and New London. Wherever you are in the state, if you have a private space and an internet connection, we can work together.
If you're a woman in Old Saybrook who is exhausted from trying to hold it all together, struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, postpartum challenges, or perimenopause, things can get better.
Therapy is a space that's entirely yours. You don't have to have it all figured out. You don't have to hit rock bottom first. You just have to be willing to try something different.
I'd be honored to walk alongside you. Reach out today to schedule your free fit check.
