Mystic, CT is a beautiful coastal community where life moves at a pace that can feel both idyllic and demanding. If you're a woman living in Mystic who has been considering therapy but struggling to find the time or the right fit, I want you to know that support is available to you from the comfort of your own home.
Mystic, CT women often come to me feeling exhausted from trying to hold everything together. You might be the one everyone else relies on at work and at home. You've built a life you're proud of, but somewhere along the way, the weight of all that responsibility started to feel heavier than it should. Perhaps you've noticed changes in your mood, your energy, or your patience that don't feel like you.
Living in a close-knit community like Mystic has its advantages, but it can also make seeking therapy feel complicated. You might worry about running into someone you know in a waiting room, or you may simply not have the time to add another appointment to your already packed schedule. Online therapy removes these barriers entirely.
When you work with me through secure video sessions, you can connect from wherever feels most comfortable. Some of my clients log on from their home office during a lunch break. Others prefer to sit in their car after dropping the kids at school, stealing a few moments of privacy before the day's demands take over. The flexibility of online therapy means that getting support doesn't have to mean rearranging your entire life.
The women I work with are often high achievers who have spent years excelling in their careers, raising children, and managing households. From the outside, their lives look successful and put together. But on the inside, they're dealing with exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix, irritability that seems to come out of nowhere, and a persistent sense that something is off.
Many women in their late thirties, forties, and early fifties experience these symptoms as a result of burnout, hormonal changes related to perimenopause, unprocessed trauma, or a combination of all three. The challenge is that these experiences often overlap and reinforce each other, making it difficult to know where to start.
In my practice, I specialize in helping women untangle these complex experiences. Rather than offering generic advice or one-size-fits-all solutions, I take time to understand your specific situation.
Perimenopause is a topic that doesn't get nearly enough attention. For many women in Mystic, it arrives right in the middle of their busiest years. You might be at the peak of your career, raising teenagers, caring for aging parents, or all of the above. The symptoms can be confusing and disruptive, from mood swings and anxiety to brain fog and sleep difficulties.
For new mothers, the postpartum period brings its own unexpected challenges. You might have imagined feeling an instant bond with your baby, only to find yourself feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or anxious in ways you weren't prepared for. What you're experiencing is more common than you might think, and it is absolutely treatable.
I believe that good therapy requires a real relationship between therapist and client. You deserve to work with someone who sees you as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms or problems to be solved. That's why I approach my work with authenticity and compassion, creating a space where you can be honest about what you're experiencing without fear of judgment.
My therapeutic style blends evidence-based practices with a relational approach that prioritizes connection and understanding. I draw on Brainspotting, a technique that helps access and process experiences stored in the body and brain, as well as Relational Cultural Therapy, which recognizes that women's well-being is deeply connected to the quality of their relationships.
I also recognize that every woman who comes to me is different. What brings one person to therapy may be completely different from what brings another, even if they share similar circumstances. That's why I take time to understand your specific situation before jumping into solutions.
If you're considering reaching out, you might be wondering what the process looks like. I offer a free 15-minute consultation that I call a "fit check." This brief conversation gives us both a chance to see if working together feels right.
If we decide to move forward, my assistant Liz will help you get set up in my system. You'll complete some initial paperwork, and then you'll be able to schedule your sessions directly in my calendar. During our first session, we'll get to know each other and discuss how I might be helpful. In the second session, we dive deeper and start developing an action plan that addresses your specific concerns.
From there, you can book your own sessions up to a year in advance, and I try to make myself available between appointments when needed. We'll continue to assess your progress together so you can decide the best course of action for your life.
If you've read this far, something about what I'm describing probably resonated with you. Maybe you recognized yourself in the picture of a woman who does everything for everyone else and is finally starting to feel the weight of that. Maybe you've been wondering if what you're experiencing might be perimenopause, postpartum changes, or something else that deserves attention.
Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that reaching out is the hardest part. Once you take that step, you'll find that the process of getting started is simpler than you might expect.
I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute fit check to see if we might be a good match. There's no pressure and no obligation. You've spent so much of your life being strong for everyone else. It might be time to let someone be strong for you.
I invite women in Mystic, CT and throughout Connecticut to reach out for a free 15-minute fit check. Taking time for your mental health is one of the most important investments you can make in yourself and your family.
